    I got a 2018 Tundra with a little over 1100 miles on it. Yesterday I was driving and it started giving off all sorts of warnings. I immediately took it to the dealer as I didn't want anything damaging my new truck.

    Warnings I got;

    Pre-Collision system malfunction.

    Trailer Brake error warning as well.

    I got it back from the shop today and they said it "had water ignition coil cylinder #5 had water in it causing a misfire". This seemed pretty unusual as I haven't been off roading and haven't been running a power washer on the inside of my motor. Has anyone had this sort of issue? Hopefully I won't be back to the dealer except for the scheduled services.

    When they said there was water in cylinder coil number 5, did they mean outside water like rain, or did they mean coolant? Maybe I'm misunderstanding something here...

    Probably meant moisture. Could be from going through puddles or washing the undercarriage in an auto carwash, BUT, it should not get water in it regardless how it got in it.

    Just had mine fixed. My whole TSS harness and PC sensor was replaced and recalibrated. Tech said the new harness and sensor are redone by Toyota to prevent this. Obviously they know this is an issue. But I didn’t get the trailer brake warning. Everything safety wise disappeared from my truck lane departure, cross traffic ant etc.

    The exact wording was: "Found ignition coil cylinder 5 full of water, removed ignition coil and dried out, reinstalled and test drove.

    Not that I'm aware of, I bought it at the beginning of June.

    I would verify with dealer the warnings are fixed by updating software.

    Will do. You would think they did it when they were looking at it. But, will see.

    I would like to know how the COP got wet. On a Ford Triton I had it was 2 fold. #1 was poor head design and #2 was a tendency for the 5.4 to blow intake gaskets.

    Yeah. They didn't have a good explanation. They asked me if I've been off roading or if I have power washed the motor. I quickly said no and reminded them it only has 1100 miles which has been mainly highway driving on a weekend trip and to and from my work.
