Is there a fuse for the cruise control? Mine in my 09 sr5 tundra worked one moment and then it wont even turn on now. Or does anyone know what I can check to see if it will fix the issue.

I also have this problem, I don't use mine much so it hasn't been a problem so haven't taken the time to find the fuse. If it's like my wife's Sienna, the switch went bad. It wasn't too hard to replace. Watching to see if anyone has some ideas.

Same here. Never worked when I got it. My horn doesn't work either and I have an airbag light on as well. Kind of makes me think I've got more going on with the steering wheel.

See if your horn works, if it doesn’t work also it’s your clock spring inside the steering wheel. Pretty easy swap.

You need a new clock spring, rent a steering wheel puller and it’s pretty easy to swap.

If certain CEL's kick on. cruise will be disabled through the ECM.
clear codes first then see if it works.

    Thanks.

I already see there's a couple of videos on YouTube for it. Awesome.

Same problem here. I checked and the horn works and I put a new CC switch in. I did get it to turn on and work ONCE. Now nothing.

I’m following this because my wife’s Subaru stopped working and maybe I can apply some of these diagnostic ideas to her car and maybe remedy the situation.

Clock spring was the fix for me. Horn never stopped working but I started getting an airbag light which is also fixed with the new clockspring. BTW it was about $20 on Amazon and took all of 15 minutes to replace.

Yeah I would replace the clock spring first. I just had this issue and it was both the clock spring and the cruise control switch.

What was interesting is that the only failure on the cruise control switch was the on/off button. Everything else tested ok on the switch. And on the clock spring, everything else worked perfectly except the cruise control wire portion. A perfect storm of failure lol.

Sound like your clock spring is bad. Mine went bad and nothing worked on my steering wheel and my airbag was disabled.

Replaced both the switch and the clock spring on mine, and it still does not work (or only randomly). Any other ideas?

Hmm it may be time for help from the pros before you throw any more money at it. They can run a step by step diagnostic to get to the root of the issue.

I feel like this happened to me on my 4runner recently. Did you check the brake lights?

Edit: Whatever it was, was silly.

It's been awhile since I checked them. Good idea. I've got it scheduled to go in for more diagnostic work next week. Just hoping I could find something on my own before then.

@F16pilot I just remembered... It was actually on my 17 Malibu that was lemonized (not for this). The parking brake pedal was depressed just enough to engage a switch for the cruise control but not the seperate switch to illuminate the brake light. Not sure if there are two switches on Tundra ebrake or not. Probably not your issue.

I just wanted to add that I had the same issue as the OP and the clock spring swap fixed it.
