I'm used to cars where one push on the cruise control speed adjustment equals 1 mph change. On my '23 Tundra, most times I push the button up or down, nothing changes. I have to keep hitting the button to get a mph change. Is this common?

Nope, should be 1km/mph per click

Silly question... are you trying to change it while someone is within range of your cruise controls radar?

Mine does 1 mph per touch as you mentioned, but if someone's in front of me within range it'll change the setting but not physically go any faster till they get out the way.

agree w/ @Yaboy. should be 1mph/kph per click without requiring multiple clicks for a single change.

Wish it would increase 5 mph per click like my wife's Subaru. Long press to increase/decrease 1 mph, quick click to increase/decrease 5 mph.

I’ve noticed this too, and found a good solution. Say, for example the speed limit increases from 60 to 70, and you try to push the increase button 10 times, it really does not like it. Especially if using radar as others have mentioned. What works great on mine, is to just push and hold to increase. After one or two seconds, the mph will increase 1 mph very smoothly and fluid leave while you are holding the switch.

I usually don’t use radar cruise control. I usually hold down the button for 3-4 seconds so radar is off. This is super aggravating.

I use both equally. I find there is a time for both. Really glad I have the option to use constant speed control in light traffic. When it’s very congested and I can’t get around anyone to get anywhere out of it, radar is nice.

I actually like the radar CC in my Tundra now that I'm used to it. (Shorten up the distance for sure)

The one in my wifes Mazda hits the brakes WAY too hard and too soon for my liking.

I used to get so aggravated with regular CC in my '00 having to speed up, slow down, speed up, because nobody can maintain a constant speed.

To follow up: I checked the radar cruise control and it works fine meaning I get 1 mph for every press of the button up or down at any speed. Going back to non-radar, clicking the button only seems to add or subtract speed when the vehicle speed is within 1-2 mph of the cruise setting. Very frustrating!

There are a few features on my 2023 that I’ll never use, like lane assist and centering, but the radar cruise control is one of my favorites. I definitely shorten the distance down to one blue bar, though.
