Cruise Control On alert sound

Hi folks,

New 1794/TRD Pro truck. Just brought it home last week of June. Truly a great truck and a joy to drive. I'd go out and take some pictures to post, but here in NW Indiana, it's snowing lightly. So that's not gonna happen today.

One thing I do not think I like is, it seems when I have cruise control on, there is this alert sound. A double tone, or gong like sound. I would not call it a beep. Happens about every 30 seconds. I only hear it when driving with cruise on. Soon as I cancel, it goes away.

I have read the entire owner's manual about the cruise control system and have not found a way to turn it off yet. I Googled it, and that lead me here. So here I am in the Tundra forum for the first time ever, looking for answers.

That sounds strange. Just the sound; no messages on the dash? It'd be helpful if you could record a video of the behavior to post here.

 

I use my cruise all the time and have never heard a warning sound.

 

It could be that you have speed alerts turned on.
