Anyone else have a creaking sound after their lift? The new a arm bushings were greased really good so I doubt that’s it.

What size of lift do you have?

Yes but how? Coilovers or spacers? UCA’s installed? Pictures would help someone with a trained eye see something not installed correctly.

What kind? What parts? Need more information to help you out.

That’s like bringing your vehicle to a mechanic and saying it’s making a noise, dropping the keys on the counter and walking out lol.

Lol sorry guys. It’s a 3.5” rough country ( coil spacer/diff drop) with SPC arms. It did it before the arms and after. I’ve read some say it’s the skid plate but I don’t see anything hitting it

Did you check that everything is torqued correctly?

Check the front sway bar. Make sure it’s seated properly. Does it do it all the time? Or when turning?

I haven’t noticed it as much turning as I do when I’m just easing along through a parking lot hitting small bumps. It seems to be more noticeable then. Maybe less than 5 MPH.

I have a good video with the sound but I guess I can’t uoload it off my iPhone . It really doesn’t happen turning, it happens when I hit a bump. I did notice there is a rubber piece between the spring and the spacer. Shouldn’t that be between the spacer and where it mounts to the body?

My stock front CO creaked. I sprayed lube on all mounting points and found mine was creaking from the upper mount. I could replicate it by standing on the passenger door threshold and bouncing the truck. The lube was temporary. Swapped in some lifted coil overs, problem solved. Once I found out the initial squeak wasn’t anything detrimental to the truck. I got past it. When it went away it was just a bonus LOL.

Was informed today that either the sway bar is loose or the alignment is not correct. I know the bar is tight and I know I’ve had my doubts in the alignment for a few weeks

Did they tighten all the hardware with it suspended in the air or at ride height?

In the way home from work it started getting even more noticeable. The sound was really bad from the right, I jerked my wheel the the left, heard a pop and seems to be ok. I’m thinking 100% sway bar

Make sure they grease the ball joints fully and used the grease packs on the bushings when they installed them.

The skid plate noise is common and it's caused by the skid plate rubbing against the mounting points as the chassis flexes. I'm not sure the problem can be fixed by simply tightening the fasteners tighter. The lift wouldn't necessarily cause the noise, but removal/re-install for the lift could. The fix is to remove the skid plate and re-install with insulating washers between skid plate and mounting points. Material for the insulation washers is left to the owner's imagination, but they need to be waterproof and rustproof.

A lot of people overlook greasing the SPC Bushings. I would bring it back to the shop and make sure they greased the bushings, also another thing that a lot of shops do is torque the upper control arm while its still in the air. That is not good, always do your final torque on the upper control arm "through bolt" while sitting at static ride height.

Coilovers myself . RC told me either it’s the sway bar or the alignment. Also it did it with the RC control arms to. I’m going to remove the skid plate entirely and try that. The sounds is mire toward the passenger side. But I really appreciate they help!! Lots of things to try! I’ll keep y’all updated

I would honestly recommend at least jacking the front end up a little bit to help "relieve" the bind that could be happening, loosen, set on ground, and then torque.

Good advice by @Toytec Lifts to jack it up before loosening.

When you tighten the control arm bushings with the truck in the air, it locks the bushing relative to the control arm at it's lowest position...then, when you let the truck down, the rubber part of the bushing is constantly in a "pre-torqued" condition. When you jack it up before loosening, the bushing will (hopefully) return to it's original unstressed position. THEN loosen the bolt, let it down, and retorque.

Thanks guys I’ll try that this weekend, I noticed it’s mainly the passenger side when turning left. I don’t see any thing hitting but I’m getting real in-depth checking this weekend

I know that Total Chaos states in their install manual that you may get some squeaks from their UCA even if lubed and torqued correctly. I think its just a part of having poly bushings I guess.

I'll just keep the windows closed, AC on, and music turned up loud. Either way I can't hear that well anymore so....:D
