Have a nice 2024 tundra and very happy with it.....however, the driver seat cracked on the left side plastic and the dealer said it would be warranted one time, but I would need to learn getting in differently! At 75 years old that may be tough.

The Gen 3s require a completely different entry and exit procedure than every truck you've ever owned. Just ask them. LOL!

If I were 75 years old, I would have snatched up the whippersnapper spewing that garbage and drive home the point that in my day, Americans didn’t build garbage and that the customer is always right!

Seriously though, that is the worse response to a customer, ever. The shit is under warranty; they’ll replace it however many times it takes until it stops breaking.

    None....
Honestly Toyota???? Fix this it's been 4 years. Make the part out of plastic that can bend and won't snap. It will save money in the long run and you will have more happy customers. The plastic on the side of a seat should not be a yearly maintenance item.... How do think customers feel about buying a 50 to 85k truck when they get in or slide out the seat plastic breaks......

In case y'all haven't figured it out....Toyota takes FOREVER AND A DAY to do anything and everything. I mean the Tundra has existed for 26 years and they are ONLY on the third generation.

Very true, but we still buy them. Nothing hurts more to a company than to stop buying from them. However, when I look around at this moment the choices that we have are not much better.

Mine on my 2023 has been changed twice for free. The last time it ws changed, it failed again the same day. I am a pretty big guy, and not about to change my habbits. I am just living with the cracked plastic. If I should hear that they have changed the plastic, or the design, to something that is not inferior like the current setup, I will have it changed again. I don't see that happening though, as this is not a safety issue.

They do have a new design that is more durable, but reports are they are still cracking.

I watched a video on how to replace these panels, and I suspect many of the cracked panels are a result of improper installation. It's not a difficult job, but there are connecting tabs that are a bit tricky to get in the correct position. My replacement seat panel is about year old and so far it's holding up. If it cracks again, I'll order the part, reinforced it (I'm thinking structural epoxy), and install it myself.
