I recently had my 2000 Tundra worked on. I had the Starter and knock sensor replaced, when I got it back the check engine light came on. I scanned my code reader and got 10 codes. the First 6 are confirmed P0300, P0301, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0307. Pending ones are P0300, P0301, P0305, P0307. I changed the spark plugs and its still has the codes. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem or can guide me to the right direction.

Each one of those is cylinder misfire
    300 - multiple cylinder misfire
    301- cylinder 1 misfire
    302 - cylinder 2 misfire
    303 - cylinder 3 misfire
    304 - cylinder 4 misfire
    305 - cylinder 5 misfire
    306 - cylinder 6 misfire
    307 - cylinder 7 misfire
Somebody didnt hook something back up right i dont think.............
    Possible causes:
Intake manifold leak allowing unmetered air into the cylinder

Considering what it takes to replace our starters, if I had someone do that work, they would be the first folks I would want to talk to. Unless you had that condition before hand.

Yep. Sounds like whoever did the work on the truck either re-used the intake gaskets, improperly installed the manifold and/or its lower gaskets, installed the gaskets backwards (which is easily done).

You need to be taking the truck back and raising hell with whoever did the work - sounds like they fucked up. Misfires are caused by unexpected airflow (intake/vacuum leaks or sucks), improper timing, bad spark, fuel delivery. Given the intake was off, and extra air in the cylinders would cause this ...

Meanwhile, hopefully they didn't install an aftermarket starter in there. Rats love to next up under the manifold and chew up the knock/starter wires. Usually splicing the wires back together fixes the issue, and the factory starter will last you 5x longer than aftermarket parts these days.

So I did take it back and he triple checked everything and still couldn’t figure it out. But he did take pictures of his progress and hopefully you guys can find something that I can’t see or can find the problem. IMG_7197.jpg IMG_7196.jpg

Again, a point to make: Misfires are typically caused by unexpected air (incl. bad air meter aka MAF readings), fuel delivery problems, spark/detonation (incl. timing). Your goal is to help find which it isn't, in order to help isolate what it is.

Clearly didn't use OEM gaskets but I'm just not gonna go there right now.

    Questions:

Seeing rats were in the air box, and little bits of filter can get stuck on the MAF sensor, fave you cleaned the MAF with clearly-labeled MAF cleaner recently? If the MAF is getting bogus signals on how much air is incoming, it may scale back on or apply more fuel.

When did you clean the throttle body last?

When was the last time you had the negative battery cable disconnected for more than 10 minutes after that happened?

Do the misfires continue if you throttle up the RPM? What if you turn the A/C on full blast?

Are you able to test the fuel pressure to ensure it's over 40psi?

Given you have rats nesting in the engine, have you verified timing, to make sure something they may've squirreled away in the timing covers didn't throw timing off? (link)

Dude....that is going to be a wiring nightmare.

I wonder if the rats/mice chewed just enough that the truck would work, but after homie took everything apart the last few copper strands went KAPUT and now it's an electrical shit show.

just my guess cause goddamn batman.....that's wild

Once you get it “going” again, your stop juice (brake fluid) could probably use a flush.

Also no need to split the intake. Use OEM gaskets. Carefully check wiring for rat chews. Clean TB and MAF. Be sure stater and knockers are Denso brand. Report back.

I have never split my intake open. I’m not sure why I always see everyone else doing that?
