    Greetings

    1. the Tundra

My 2015 tundra came to me with the following set up, 77 k miles , the previous owner probably never used the 4wd or used the bed. Found this truck purely by dumb luck.

    3 inch spacer kit

    20 inch wheels with 305/55R20 121/118Q tires ( pro comp at….replacing)

    2. Philosophy of Use

The truck is used for a 260 mile round trip hunting rig for the heavy red clay roads of East Texas. My Deer/ Hog lease is 3 miles off paved roads down a red clay county road that can be quit an adventure when wet. The lease itself is 400 acres of logging roads that are not maintained , muddy when wet and have ruts much worse than the county roads. I can’t get stuck because many times help isn’t coming , but I am not overlanding out west in the mountains or Baja Racing at high speeds.

I do currently like my 3 inch lift and would like to keep it, however I am open to ditching the 20 inch wheels in favor of more rubber sitting on 18s. I also need to replace my tires with Hybrids or Mts that are decent on the Highway ( country roads in Texas have 75 mph speed limit) but will get me through the red clay gumbo.

I would like to go with a BDS 3 inch kit but can’t decide between these tow kits. I can’t decide which fits my needs the best , I don’t have a problem buying the the more extensive lift

    Or the lesser kit

Any opinions are welcome and appreciated

Those are both 7” bracket lift kits. You want a 7” lift or a 3” lift?

I'd grab a Dobinson's 3" lift, and of course 18" rims with 35'sx5. Don't forget about the little things, brake line relocate kit, sway bar spacers, bump stops, front diff drop, carrier bearing spacers, and I suggest rear traction bars (I used BDS).

Personally? I’d be calling Matt at MCM for a set of ADS 2.5” coilovers and rear smoothies. Add his UCAs and a set of Duro Bumps for the front.

Might even consider dropping to a 17” wheel with LR C 35” tires if you’re not dead set on LR E tires. Save weight, cost, and ride better.

Just have to click on the 3" or 3" CO tabs on the top right of the page where it says "Step 1: Choose lift height"

I'd go with the 3" Coil Over set out of those two options. I have the 7" BDS and it's been great to me. The Fox shocks give me a good smooth ride. The lifetime warranty on parts can't be beat. I've had several parts that I've broken replaced for free.

Will it help you out more in the terrain you face than what you currently have? No, but better tires will. The more you can air down and get a wider footprint, the more traction you can get. I'd go with 17s to maximize the amount of tire.
