I bought my Tundra back in 2018. It is a 2007 SR5 TSS Edition. I used to have the TSS chrome 20" wheels, but the chrome started to fail and it would leak air consistently. The ride used to be completely smooth - no shake, nothing.

I put on 20" 2014 Wheels a few years back and in the past year or two I have noticed shaking when on the highway.

    To date I have:

Purchased (4) brand new tires and had them balanced several times
    Replaced Front Pads
    Replaced Front Rotors
Purchased new lug nuts to match the 2014 style wheels (flat with washer)

The only thing I haven't done is replaced my rear rotors. They make a high pitched noise in reverse only, but I hear that is common.

I have only put 37,000 miles on it in 6 years, so it doesn't get used a lot. Truck just turned over 136,000 miles on the way back from a camping trip.

Where do I start looking next for getting rid of this vibration? It doesn't seem to be in the steering wheel per se, but like the whole cabin just shakes mildly. The seats/cups/radio screen vibrate on the highway.

    Replace rear rotors.
If they’re making noise in reverse, I would double check everything on the rear brakes including the parking brake.

Its just a high pitched squeal, but I'll double check all hardware. Parking break is great. Just towed my 6000lb camper 1600 miles and used it a lot when on fuel stops and campgrounds.

Is it just at 61MPH+? Usually vibrations that occur at a certain speed only are related directly to wheel/tire issues...where if the vibrations are at a wider range it could be drivetrain (Driveshaft, CV's). I'm suspecting these 2014 wheels, any way to put your old ones on and rule it out?

    It starts at 61 mph.

Old wheels are long gone. I guess if rear rotors don't fix it, I start looking for a test set of wheels to try.

Have you had the chance to have a shop do a road force balance? The shop that checked my BFG's years ago found my similar problems you described, but steering wheel shook as well as cab(seat of the pants) shaking. The road force balance machine spun the tire/rim slowly, and he found the tire was out of round. Prior to that, I had tried almost everything you tried, as well as balancing beads. Switched to Toyos and no more shaking. Maybe give that a try?

Has the suspension ever been refreshed? Shocks are generally good for about 60-100k miles. They wear out slowly and you don’t notice the performance degrading over such a long period of time, unless they just fail outright. Worn suspension and shocks will take one small bump and reverberate it over and over without good dampening from the shock.

The same ones that came on the truck when I bought it in 2018. The truck is a 2007.

I have a set of shocks that I bought a long time ago that only had 29k when the owner removed them. I guess its time to install them, maybe just in the rear to see if that helps.

I've never been offered this option - What shop did you take yours to? I will see if they are here in Texas.

Generally, I don't think this is the issue because I have been through 3 different sets of tires and the issue persists. I had Coopers, then older Michellins and now I have basically brand new Michellins.

Have you taken it to a different shop for balancing?
I bought used rims and had everything balanced. Had vibration. Took it to a different shop and the tech called me out to show me a bent rim. The old shop just put the rim they couldn’t balance on the rear of the truck, where I would feel it the least.

I haven't. I take it to the same guy that I always have, and haven't had any issues.

Gotcha, was not under the impression that you went through 3 sets. Have a local tire shop that I buy from and install and never knew tire balancing machines spun that slowly.

I would jack up the front and inspect the tightness of the ball joints and tie rods really well. Inspect if the bushings at the bottom of the shocks are tight etc. somewhere these is something loose

Both of these. I would start with getting the balance checked and then the rims themselves. Even the slightest problem with wheel weights can throw you off.

61 MPH vibration... Sounds / feels familiar. Will watch for your attempts to resolve it because I have the same issue. For comparison, mine is:

2008 Tundra Double Cab 4x4 Limited; 136k miles; 20 inch optional wheels (factory); Bilstein shocks (original); BFG Goodrich AT tires, factory replacement; these are the third set with only 4k miles on them.

I thought about rotating front to rear to see if the shimmy mellows out.

I’d grease your drive shaft just to rule it out and it’s a good thing to do

Before throwing more parts at it, I’d try rotating the tires front to back and see if it changes. Then try a different tire shop. You haven’t ruled out the tires and wheels yet and it usually is the tires or wheels. Get re-balanced.

Wasn't there some issues with the tss rims on some years where the rim was out of balance?

I just know the chrome started to flake and cause pressure loss. That is why I switched to the 2014 Limited wheels.
