I have a 2010 dbl cab, no lift or anything like that. But the Michelin tires are done. I am looking at the cooper discoverer at3. Anyone have any input on those? Also, our local shop is an ntb store that is being rebranded to mavis. My only other options are local shops. I would love to use local, but would a nationwide shop be better if you are traveling and something happens???

I have them on my 2013 Sequoia. I'm very happy with them. Simple tire has the best prices and delivers to local shops.

That's a pretty good tire and a good weight/performance trade off. I would recommend looking at discount tire and tire rack for prices then compare to local. Simple Tire and other tirerack competitors are legit as well, especially when the others are out of stock.

I have them on my 07 CM. Great tire, wear well and no road noise. When these wear out I'll be getting another set.

My experience has been - if I have troubles with a tire, there’s very little chance that the closest tire store is the same chain I bought my tires from.

Mom and pop shops usually charge a little more, but their service is usually (not always) top notch. Not saying that nationwide stores don’t have good service… just that I’ve found locally owned stores (even if they are a chain) seem to have great service.

As for the Coopers, I’m on my second set of Discoverer AT3’s and have found them to have a very good mix of trade offs/advantages for my use. They have put up with everything I’ve thrown at them. I was disappointed to see them remove the 3 peak mountain snow flake rating from most of the LT and XLT tires of which I’ve run a set of each, but the AT3 4S still has it. Mine have done an admirable job in the snow but I can see there is something more to be had there. And they are very predictable in most every road conditions which is a great thing.

Thanks everyone. I am still searching for a good tire. Well, and a good place to have them installed. I have some online classes to complete then I will continue my search! I am also looking at some bf Goodrich t/a ko2…neighbor has them on his f150 and they look good…

I have a set of Cooper AT3 XLT’s on my 2020 dc and would recommend them. Theyre wearing evenly and are very quiet. Performance has been great in the rain and pretty good in the snow. Only complaint I have is that they have been subpar on ice for me.

Stay away from the BFG's. They are stone magnets and also are known to have balancing issues.

I love my Discoverer AT3 XLTs. I’ve got them on my Tundra, my Dodge dually and my wife’s Sequoia. Good all around tire and they wear well. I also use a small local tire guy and have never had any problems, he orders tires from the same large warehouse the nationwide chains get their tires from and usually cheaper. The only time a small local shop would be a problem is if they hold their own inventory and the tires you want have been sitting for a long time.
