Made a mistake today and went to the local Toyota dealership and now I can’t stop thinking about the new tundras. However, thanks to this forum.. I know I do not want to get the 3rd gen lol too many problems for my liking.
BUT I do like the 2018-2021s
Would it even be worth selling my current 2011 or attempting to bring mine up to speed?
Really all I feel is missing is climate seats and a more edged body. Should be easy to obtain with some panels and seats no?
    Any thoughts?

I was in the same boat. I had a slot for a new Limited, but passed on it. I really didn't like the Tinker Toy interior on the new one, so much so that it was a deal breaker.

In terms of going to 2018-21, that would depend on how much you drive. If you drive your Tundra a lot/Daily Driver, then getting a low miles Limited or Platinum is an easy choice. They are trading for $40k now which is CHEAP compared to the stripped down junk Ford/GM/RAM are selling for $62k.

As a daily driver, the creature comforts of the 2018+ are worth considering. I didn't jump because I only drive my Tundra 2500 miles a year, but I'd do it in a second if it was my only vehicle.

As for fender swap / seat swap. There are threads here on that. Seems to me to be an involved process although not a difficult one.

I decided to stick with my 2012 until the Tundra 3.5 comes out. Instead, I had all the fluids changed, put on new Bilsteins, EBC rotors and pads, and put in Sealight LED bulbs. It's basically a new truck again. I'll give it a paint correction and wheel refinish this spring, then it will also look as new.

    Same deal here.

Unless your truck is haggered…id butter it up and see what the 3.5 gen is bringing to the table in a decade or so:D

I put some SCS wheels on, 6112/5160’s, leather with seat heaters and a mild stereo in. Bam, fresh as spearmint bubble gum.

Long tubes w/ an X next and call it good til wheels fall off or somebody puts out a $70k half ton worth a shit (recent history suggests that aint happening)

I almost purchased a 18 Platinum back in Oct, but the deal fell through. They were asking CAN$42,5K.
After going for a ride in my FIL’s 22 GMC AT4 with climate seats, I said there was no way I was getting another vehicle without that feature.
I think it worked out for the best. The car market is crashing, and folks are finally shying away from pickups, so prices are starting to drop. Similar trucks are now selling for CAN$39K.
I ultimately ended up with my daughter’s 07 CrewMax Ltd last week when she decided to buy another Tundra. So, for me, the plan is to beautify it a bit, and drive it for another 10 yrs or until they force us to EVs.
I watched guys like the “CarWizard” on YT say do NOT buy any pickups after the early to mid-2000s because of too many issues. Folks are beginning to realize that all the damn plastic parts and complex electronics are making new vehicles prohibitively expensive to maintain and unreliable.

    I appreciate the input y’all!
I think you guys are on the right track, I’ll probably give it another year or two and see where the market is at. It’ll also give me some time to finish some minor projects with it and hopefully gain some more value! If I can land on a 2021 that’ll be it, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go newer than that lol
