Emailed Level 10 transmission company about their claimed computer upgrade flash for $190. I was wondering what to expect. This is what they said.

Never heard of such a thing but if its legit I would be nervous about it allowing more power from the engine than the transmission can handle. If your goal shortening your time on a track go for it but if the goal is longevity then messing with how much power the engine is allowed to send to the transmission it's probably not a great idea. Its sort of like adding a super charger, sure does it give you more power, absolutely, but it doesn't increase your tow rating or engine life? I think power mods on trucks is a bit silly unless its just a project truck that your aiming to have fun with. Adding power mods to a 5.7 thats a daily driver I fail to see the upside, unless you just like to blast it down on ramps or something. My suggestion to people wanting to make a truck go faster is to buy a car or motorcycle and use the truck as a truck. It burns enough gas in its stock form.

Interesting. I noticed the first time I pulled my travel trailer up my steep driveway in 4lo it felt like the engine wouldn't develop full RPM. I had absolutely no problem making the pull but it was concerning until I realized the truck was preventing itself from turning itself into a pretzel.

I don't think I'd go for that update. At least not without further explanation.
