I’ve done a good amount of searching and haven’t found someone experiencing my same problem so I’m going to go ahead and make my own post looking for help.

A couple weeks ago my 2014 5.7L Tunny threw up a check engine light and on the cluster gauge information screen I got a notification saying Traction Control Off. Getting it to a scanner as fast as I could, the scanner read a cylinder 5 misfire(P03005 i believe?), and the traction control and ABS was off with some sort of communication error. The TCC and ABS communication error was solved by cleaning off the ABS sensors, there was some mud gunking them up in the front, but for the misfire, we replaced spark plugs, coil packs, fuel injectors, and checked the valve springs and still nothing.

A little background, right before the truck started misfiring I put a K&N Cold Air Intake(Wet Oil Cone) on and it ran fine for about a week or two.

But thinking it could be the reason the truck was going haywire I put the stock intake back on and cleaned off the mass airflow sensor thinking the oil could’ve covered it and made it cause problems. In between replacing everything the truck would run fine for a day or two then start misfiring again, and it doesn’t miss every time I start it up.

So at this point I’m stumped, everyone I’ve talked to is stumped, I don’t know what to try next.

Before you throw parts at it, swap the coil to the other bank and check if the misfire follows suit. Id it does it's the coil replace it and move on. If it doesn't pull the plug and check clearance gap. If that's good trace wiring and inspect for damage. Additionally check for oil residue on coil and spark if your valve cover is leaking.
