I have been chasing this chirp at cold starts. I replaced the belt with a gates green v-belt and did a new tensioner pulley and bearing (gates brand). Noise went away for a week and came back.

I then replaced the idler pulley. The noise stayed the same but for less time. The chirp last about a 1 second and goes away.

Sounds like it’s coming from the alternator or power steering (passenger side)

I can get it to chirp for longer if I press the window switches up while the widows are closed during the cold start. I can also get it to chirp if I turn the wheel back and forth instantly after cold start.

I can get the noise to stop instantly If I turn the ac on after cold start.

I think it may be the actual tensioner since I only replaced the pulley, bad belt, alternator or battery going bad (battery is coming up on 3 years). Battery has good voltage after cold start.

If you decide to replace the tensioner, it might be a good time to replace your OG alternator since it has to be removed to get the new tensioner in place. I plan on doing both at the same time.
