What’s the best way to fix the P2443 code so I don’t have future issues. Will the bypass wiring harness or should I change the secondary air injectors.

No experience with it. Hope somebody chimes in. I did look at YouTube since I was curious what the code means. I guess it’s a design flaw and common on the earlier models up to 08?. There was a long drawn out process in the comments section of this video for help through Toyota Motor. https://youtu.be/75q5PSBMX7U

Is the Hewitt bypass a permanent fix?

I would install the bypass. The first time the SAIS failed for my 2007 it was @147k miles the truck was still under warranty a dealership did the work ( I had to go to 2 different dealerships the first one refused to do the work even though I had a printout of the service bulletin) they failed again at 250k miles this time I got the Hewitt 2nd generation kit and everything is good
