    Hey everyone

having a suspension/tire issue I cannot seem to diagnose.

I get a very faint clunk when reversing and turning at the same time. It is not a CV click, it is a single clunk that doesn’t typically happen when turning the wheels back straight.

The steering also seems shake side to side while cruising above 90km/h

any suggestions? I took front wheel off each side, got my crow bar in everywhere and pried around. Not able to find any clunks or odd noises. Everything looks solid, no ripped boots or fluids anywhere.

    thanks for suggestions everyone

Based off what your experiencing I would check the outer tie rods and sway bar end links more closely. See if you can move them/joints around easily by hand. Least expensive/easiest items to replace before moving onto the UCA/LCA ball joints/bushings. Good luck!

hey, thanks for the reply. All sway bar links and tie rod ends are tight. I cannot get any of them to making any type of noise.

The steering wheel shake seems to be intermittent. It was shaking like crazy this morning on the highway, took a large slow turn on the highway and it went away.

May be that time to look up if you fall under the TSB for the rack and pinion. I do think most 2nd gens fall under the TSB, look up in your local area and see if they fall under it and ask the dealership before you go, nothing like being denied while you're there.

depending on the dealership some will do warranty work while others won’t depending on the job
