So after talking to some other members in another thread we're looking to start a cigar/pipe tobacco box pass around the US. So here's how it works.

I'll start the box with some cigars and pipe tobacco (maybe some other stuff) and ship it to the next location. Next guy/gal grabs something that interests them and then contributes something back to the box and ships it off to the next person. This repeats until the box ends back where it started. At the end i'll do the same one last time and then randomly distribute the remaining contents of the box to all who participated.

Now if you're new to this and want to grab something of value (Cuban, Opus X) but might not have something of equal value to contribute just post back in this forum. Overall i'm sure most cigar guys/gals will probably tell you to take it and just contribute what you can since overall this is about trying new cigars and pipe tobacco you might not normally be able to find.

So if you're interested PM me your address so I can figure out the flight plan to keep shipping costs down between locations. Be warned though ... this is going to start in a USPS small flat rate but by the end this might be a huge box! When you PM use the subject "Box Pass" so I can separate these PM's out from the others.

I figure we'll give this a week to see who's interested (so Friday June 12th) and then start the fun! Also remember to tell USPS that the box DOES NOT CONTAIN tobacco products. Don't know why they ask but it's probably for the children or something.

Also the disclaimer .. if you are not able to possess tobacco products in your jurisdiction you are ineligible to participate .. even though you might own a Tundra. If anyone foresees this being an issue we can ship with 21+ signature required. Doubt USPS actually verifies now due to COVID but again if it's an issue we can cover our butts if necessary.

    Thanks!

Would need clarification on "equal value". What if there is a cigar someone likes, but is cheaper than the one he/she picked out of the box? My $10 cigar could be awesome, but maybe less in value than a $50 cigar in the box? Now, I wouldn't add a Philis Blunt in there, but you get my gist LOL

Yeah I get where you're coming from. I think the point is to grab what you like and contribute new stuff to the box that you think others might like. Guess the "of equal value" is just kind of a disclaimer to keep drug store cigars out of the box.

Sounds like a fun idea, but any concern for passing around a box that's not temperature or humidity controlled for an extended period of time. With it being summer I'd be a little concerned beetles would eventually ruin the whole box.

I've been into cigars for a little bit and I still have beetle holes on occasion from reputable sellers, I usually just chalk it up to shipping for a week and sitting at warm temps in the trucks.

I have humidity packs but temps could be a concern. Maybe shelve this idea until maybe early September when it’s a bit cooler?

Could try cooler packs, but that might require a bit more explaining to USPS or whoever. I like this idea though, I'm always looking to try a new cigar.

    Count me in.

I keep a fully stocked humidor at the home. I dont put $30 cigars in it but I dont smoke junk either.

I usually have some mix of Rocky Patel, Arturo Fuente, Oliva, Joya, etc...
