So is it just me or is it next to impossible to check the oil level on this motor? No matter what I do, no matter if I pull the dipstick out in one continuous motion or not, no matter which orientation I put the dipstick in, it always comes out with oil smeared across the bottom 10” or so of the dipstick. It’s like there’s oil all up inside the dipstick tube and it’s never coming out.

I had a similar experience. Now I check it in the morning before first start of the day. Seems it drains out of the tube overnight and I can get a good read.

I can leave mine sitting for multiple days and it seems to make no difference.
