How do I get my wipers to stop chattering? They're new and unless its a steady heavy rain, they'll chatter. My old wipers did it too.

I’ve been using the oem premium wipers since day 1 and have never had a single issue.

I had my original ones for about 4.5 years. Should have kept them…

I’m on my 3rd set in 8 years. Only wipers I’ve owned that literally last for 3-4 years.

OEM wipers don’t seem to have a issue until they need replacing

I'm in the chattering department as well...

My work environment is hell on wiper blades so I have to change often therefor I don't buy the most expensive... Doesn't matter what brand or quality/price range they all chatter...

I refuse to use car washes so I wash at home...

How do the OEM wipers perform when you use those?

Where do you get the originals? Are you talking about the “Sightline” ones?

Dealership. Don’t recall if they are sightline. But there are two oem versions. A cheaper set and a more expensive set. They’re usually about $50-60 each. But well worth it for how long they last virtually issue free.

I've not tried OEM as I say I won't buy the high dollar ones because of where I work...

Sometimes you do get what you pay for. Your call obviously, but very curious where you do work that is so tough on wipers.

At a port.. .We unload 50,000 tons of phosphate rock a week,.. It's kinda like sand and it's all over our vehicles every day... Piled high on the wiper blade.. I try not to turn them on until the wind blows it off...

This is what I did. Bought 2 sets at the last Fred Anderson 25% off sale. They were $21.15 per wiper. They don't make a peep and work flawlessly. I will stay OEM on this one. I HATE extra noises

Don't see a reason to not give them a try. What's the worst that could happen? And just how cheap are the blades you are buying? I just checked my last invoices from a 2024 Serra sale and I got both blades for $44. For your use, I would be buying them by the dozen during a sale.

I wish i knew. I had oem wipers for like 6 years, never changed and the windshield can be bone dry... No chattering whatsoever. Had to get them swapped out because the great state of Pa , says they are no good. Got replacements at Toyota, absolute fucking garbage. Chatter all the time even when wet. Try cleaning edge with isopropyl alcohol. If that doesn't work try turtle wax on windshield.

Most Toyota dealer parts departments sell both OEM and Sightline.

I went to two local dealerships and they said I could only get sightline. I will ordering these on the internet, not all dealerships are created equal.

I needed two quarts of Transmission fluid for my cooler install so I went local again. They wanted 31 dollars. I happened to pass by the dealership where I purchase all my vehicles from which is about an hour from my home…17 dollars.

The other option for not getting snowballed is to order it directly from Toyota and have them ship it to the local dealer for pickup.

    https://autoparts.toyota.com/

Prices seem good for what I have ordered.

So Valeo is the OEM for the wiper blades on these trucks. I tried the 23OE and 26OE when my factory ones needed replacing and they have been fine. About 1/2 the price of the Toyota dealership for what is, as far as I can tell, an identical wiper blade.

I miss the NWB wipers from the older Landcruisers though, the quality of those was next level and you could just replace the insert instead of chucking the whole thing.

Believe it or not, get the ones from the dealer. I had the same issue when I had my Tacoma and the parts guy said that Toyota invested a lot into designing them. When I got my Tundra, it had aftermarket blades and I asked them about those to. He said it was the same case. I switched to the OEM ones and have not had a problem since.

You. Want. The. OEM. Originals (as the abbreviation implies).

Here to help with a photo of the part #'s. Non descript factory packaging. And just to be crystal clear these are for gen. 2.5. I am also a testimonial that I get 4.5 years out of a set.

I have the Bosch Envisions. Chattered from day 1.

I'm thinking it's got to have something to do with the car wash stuff that goes on the windshield. I'll try cleaning the blades and the glass this weekend.
