You're not actually thinking I'm gonna sell my Taco and buy something 2 years older with almost 170K miles, are you?

I can't afford to keep the Taco and get the Tundy right now...

    One or the other...

Taco's worth like $10K. My CD is about to mature and I could easily afford the $2K-$3K difference to purchase the Tundy, but I can't afford to own two trucks, much less insure them both. Also, how much would USAA charge to insure something that's over a ton heavier than my Tacoma and has 4 more cylinders?

    @4x4_Angel

As the offspring of a Navy vet, I qualify for USAA benefits, and USAA insures my Taco. I pay like $110 a month for full coverage.

I'm guessing you and @Marty McFly use USAA too?

I pay for full coverage with USAA on my Tundy around $180/mo....but that's also my renters insurance too

When I sold my Tacoma for my same year Tundra, it cost me about $4000 BUT my Tundra milage was 50,000 km less.

Call usaa and get a quote for it....just to see how much your insurance would go up if just added to your policy.

My kids are both USAA members also because of me

Also, my parents get annoyed at me for taking over their basement with LEGO models and keeping old central air-conditioner parts in their garage...

I've also got a pile of Tacoma parts in the garage and in my room

A second truck in their driveway ain't gonna happen!

No more real trucks until I'm on my own!

You have a mechanic friend that could check it out. Where's the car fax. Nice clean 08. I have an 08., but don't remember seeing that blue. I got 15k for my Stepside Tacoma after I totaled it. I jumped up to a Tundra for more room. Good luck

sounds like a good deal.. You cant go by what kbb price is; they are not always accurate. Anyone who knows cars would look at the market price it currently sells..

Personally I would concentrate more on getting out of my parents basement. Having a tundra is a huge responsibility. It has the ability to pick up a lot of fatties. And your parents will get more annoyed.:) :p

Nothing wrong with having the tacoma.. But I say if you need more room, get the tundra.

Because I'm not being stopped for speeding or otherwise driving dangerously, and I don't have an expired registration sticker or any lights out...

I'm being forced to stop on my way home from work so a cop can ask me if if I've been drinking...

And it's not just me, they're inconveniencing hundreds of innocent drivers...

It's 50% unconstitutional, and 50% a royal pain in the ass...

FUN FACT: DUI checkpoints have been ruled unconstitutional in Texas!

I think roving patrols are a far better use of police resources!

No in Texas they have "No refusal" time frames.....you refuse to blow or give blood... you go to jail....among other consequences.

Roving patrols are good to a point....but check points in areas they know have high DUI/DWI spots or accidents (IMO) are good too. Youi don't care about being inconvenienced if the people who have been drinking and shouldn't be driving are hooked up with their reward

I think the guy who hit my Tacoma needed a black eye, a few missing teeth, and a foot up his ass, more than he needed a DUI charge! If the cops hadn't shown up when they did, he may have gotten an ass-kicking and a DUI...

So EVERYBODY has to blow into the breathalyzer during those time frames? That's the part I find unconstitutional...

If you are stopped and suspected of drinking and driving and you refuse you go to jail. Judges are on 24/7 during those times to sign warrants for blood. And yes you go to jail. I don't think it's unconstitutional at all. If you haven't been drinking, then why not blow and do the FST?

I'd do the breathalyzer, but I couldn't do some of those FSTs sober...

Also, I'm a law-abiding citizen who is rather anti-authoritarian and has some very Libertarian views...

So, in Texas, I've got to get out of my nice warm truck on a cold night, and do embarrassing FSTs by the side of the road where everybody can see me just because a cop thinks I've been drinking when I really haven't...?

Basically, I don't drive drunk, so leave me alone...

I have an app on my phone that tells me where all the DUI checkpoints are in real time...
