Charging system

Hello, my battery died on my 2007 toyota tundra 5.7 4x4 limited, So I installed a new ultimator in battery, The alternator is not charging my battery unless I put my foot on the gas Accelerator,, Then when I take my foot off your celebrator The starts to die battery dies,and I have noticed my tundra my idle RPM went way down.

 

Have you verified voltage on the battery to make sure it is in fact charging when you put your foot on the accelerator?

Watch the voltage on the battery. 12v is not charging, 13-14v is charging. This would be my first step, verify if/when the alternator is actually working.

Any trouble codes? Check engine light?

 

Maybe needs to relearn the idle after disconnecting the battery. When I swapped my battery it idled super low and would not charge when idling that low. Once it relearned the idle it was fine.

 

Yes I have checked with voltage with my meter and it is charging the battery when I am accelerating ..

 

what is your Tundra Idling at after its warm?
