    Hi Guys,

So last week leaving work i fired the tunderino up and she lit up like a pinball machine. I shut it off and tried to restart, (hopeing it was a weird glitch) and she just clicked...not enough juice to fire. I received a jump from a buddy using a noco box and she started but was still lit up like i just hit the jackpot on the ol' one armed bandit. I headed for home which is about 15 min away made it to my exit then she started sputtering and died. I was towed by AAA the rest of the way. He hooked his big noco box up and we drove it on and off the tow truck she ran fine with the external pwr. That box has a alternator and battery tester on it and both were comming back faulty. The battery was still under warranty so i went and grabbed a new battery and brought it home and put it on the peak charger. After i charged it and installed it the truck ran fine but the battery light was on and the alternator was only charging at like 11 or so volts give or take. I started looking for an alternator and it was a few days out plus i didnt have time to do the job during the week so i was charging my battery at night and at work so i could still use the truck. On like the 2nd day we got some snow so i didnt have time to get the battery charged to peak at work but figured it would have enough charge to get me home. I threw the battery in and headed home. After a few miles the truck started charging again reading right in the middle of the gauge on the dash and the battery light also went out. I put the hand held volt meter on it and confirmed the reading on the dash. I stopped charging the battery at night and ever since it seems to be charging fine! I checked the fuses under the dash that sometimes mess with the alternator and replaced it for good measure. She seems to be running and charging fine now! My question is as follows.... if the battery is charged to tip top full, will the ecu cut voltage going to the battery to protect it from over charging??? Thats the only thing i can think of or maybe i was just lucky and it is going to fail again soon?? Thx in advance for any and all info.
