Writing for my husband who is at work. The tail light on his 2021 Tundra got broken. He ordered an aftermarket light online. No problem installing it. After he did the car would not start. He finally got it to start but then he couldn't get it in gear. He finally was able to get it in gear but multiple warning lights appeared on dashboard and won't go away. Anyone have any idea what happened and how to fix? Thank you

What tail light did he get? The OEM light is about $115 from the dealer.

I just looked and it was a generic light for up to the 2021 model. No name.

I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the light but the issues that he is having are really strange. Does the broken light still work? Of it does, I would plug it back in and see what happens. Now that I'm thinking about it, it was just the housing that was replaced? It would have reused the bulb sockets and harness.

On a side note, I put an "aftermarket" taillight assembly on my 2015.

The first car wash got moisture in the assembly.

It went back and I bought an OEM one.

Wiring must have gotten messed up during the swap. a cut maybe causing a short?

All of the wiring is still stock. The taillight is just a plastic housing with no internal electronics. *if it was just an OEM style taillight swap.
