Any of you guys in hot climates like Florida have ceramic window tint? I need to have mine retinted and was wondering how the ceramic tint helps or if it is a noticeable difference.

I have non-ceramic in my 2002, and ceramic in my 2007. The ceramic tint does a much better job of rejecting heat from the sun, I will have my 2002 re-tinted with ceramic soon.

Just had my truck done 5 days ago in full Llumar IRX on the sides and back window and Air 80 on the windshield and sunroof, loving it so far! Definitely less heat transmission compared to my other cars with regular tint.
It’s worth getting multiple quotes as I’ve learned pricing can be quite varied. I was quoted by a super popular/busy shop
    - Sides and Rear $495
    - Windshield $250
    - Sunroof $180

Then I checked with the same guy who did my other cars some 11 years ago and for the exact same llumar film his quote was
    - Sides and Rear $450
    - Windshield $150
    - Sunroof $50

Ceramic all the way. No other option. I’m in South Carolina and it is worth every cent. If you can do windshield also, get it done. Windshield is usually around $125-150 here or whole truck would be around $400-$450.

Ceramic as dark as legal here in Texas. Makes a difference...a white truck even better.

Ceramic as light as possible here... I think it was $300
The windshield will be done once I install a new windshield to replace the pitted one I have.

Nice. I'm originally from Myrtle Beach so I know it gets hot there too.

Ceramic on all four doors! Nice and cool. Non on the rear. It’s topping the 100’s here in Texas right now.

Had front windows and eyebrow done for $195 (50 for eyebrow) in austin, tx. Sitting sideways to the sun, cannot feel any heat coming thru, sweet stuff.

Here in Arizona, and with a black truck, the ceramic is a must. I paid $550 or something close to that, for all 4 doors and back at 20% and clear on the front (Formula One Stratos, UV blocking and infrared absorbing). The shop I went to had displays set up with different brands with heat lamps behind them. The difference between standard tint and even the low level ceramic was significant. Long story short, worth every penny.

Llumar is the best and has been in the auto tint industry for decades. Most shops carry the CTX. It is a very noticeable difference compared to regular dyed film. The main difference between CTX and IRX is that the IRX has a 25% increase in heat rejection technology, but is more expensive obviously. If you get your truck done, you will want to get the clear on the windshield as well. The windshield lets in the most heat/IR and you wont get the most benefits unless you tint it as well. I posted pics of the windshield on mine.

Anyone in the Houston area have a place they’d recommend for ceramic tinting?

Do this Ceramic Film. Well worth the money! The clear film works just as well as the tinted film for doing front windshields.
