    It's for the removable piece to the left that gives access under the console.

    You see that cubby next to your shifter, the long skinny one to the right? That’s for maps...apparently back in the 80’s, maps were on paper and people needed somewhere to put them while driving, so Toyota developed a map holder cubby. What you’re seeing under your console lid, my friend, holds the lid to your map cubby when you’re traveling back in time and using a paper map.

    Yeah, now there's no need for a map, since no one knows how to do anything other than follow the blue dot on a phone. :laugh:
