Hey everyone I know this has probably been talked about before but one of my cats is rattling very badly and I was wanting to just cut both out and weld in a strait tubes. What are the thoughts on doing this and if I do would it make it run poorly?
    Thanks!

You'd have to get o2 simulators for after the cats or you'll throw codes.

Is it the cat rattling or a heat shield?

I've never seen a thread on this forum about cats rattling, so this is a new one on me.

The ECU is programmed to use the inputs of all four O2 sensors to operate efficiently. The one on each side before the cat guts helps the ECU to understand if air/fuel ratio is correct, and spark is effective - IMHO that's sort of important. The one after the CAT guts is more for emissions purposes, to ensure the CAT is properly and efficiently doing its job, so more trivial of function.

There are people who've done it, I've seen on person on here who deleted cats, but I can't recall who it was and the search terms would be too tough to figure out.

Yes, don't go catless. Leave the catos alone.
