Cali Raised LED's Catalytic Converter Shield is laser cut and CNC bent, made with American 12Gauge 304 brushed Stainless Steel. This product is one of the best ways to protect your catalytic converter. Our circular hole design on the product provides ample heat dissipation while maintaining high quality.

The kit includes a passenger and driver-side cat guard with security hardware and tools. The best part of this cat guard is, that it is compatible with 99% of the skid plates on the market. It's a complete bolt-on product that requires no drilling, welding, or modification to your vehicle.

    Fits:
    • 22+ TOYOTA TUNDRA CREW MAX 4X4
    • CREW CAB LONG BED 4X4
    Note:
    • The Tundra shields will not work on the Hybrid models
    • Do not paint, as Catalytic Converts get hot.

Even with it being a harder stainless steel I see those three little tabs as being pretty quick to zip off with a Sawzall or angle grinder. 12ga steel means its 0.1054 inches thick where as 1/8" thick would be 0.125. Its less than and 1/8", so that would only take a couple seconds. Would be much better if those tabs tied into the shield with more material to make cutting them off more difficult. In my opinion this would maybe provide a 50/50 chance that the thief takes the extra few seconds to just cut em off after they already slid under the truck. Maybe these are intended to be installed under a skid plate then? With them being stainless steel I see your saying they can be installed under 99% of skid plates, but if the stainless steel comes in contact against an aluminum skid plate the galvanic corrosion between the two dissimilar metals are going to eat each other when they are mixed with the heat of the cats and salt/dirt on the road. Might want to add a disclaimer to not install it under a aluminum skid plate. Great looking product, just think you need some tweaks to make them a little more robust against being cut off. Really like the amount of ventilation to keep the cats more cool.

I hope so . I’m fortunate enough to live by their shop. I purchased the covers and went to get them installed. After an hour or so I get back from a tasty breakfast across the street at the airport and one of the guys tells me that they’re not compatible with my TRD Pro. They refunded the purchase.

I'd rather get two smaller plates to add to my truck than put another larger one on. thats all. Maybe some weight savings, maybe easier for oil changes with the pro skid plate. But ultimately seems like an easier option, once they have them for the hybrids.

With our design of the two piece cat shield, it does help provide better access to your maintenance:thumbsup: such as: transmission fluid & drive shaft & much more. It does help provide less weight and tucks close to the cats to ensure their fully enclosed.

Thieves can not remove them, as ours have security bolts. Don't wake up with your cats missing, get them protected today! It's a complete bolt-on product that requires no drilling, welding, or modification to your vehicle. The best part of this cat guard is, that it is compatible with 99% of the skid plates on the market!

Have you been a victim of cat theft or known someone that has been?

So these don't come in contact with 99% or the aluminium skid plates on the market then? If you want to see some funky corrosion put stainless steel and aluminium together with road salt and a heat source and you'll have a fun galvanic corrosion experiment under your truck. Hey if they don't come into contact with those then no problem. Might want to clarify that in your literature though if they do. Or just continue to ignore...

From what I can tell looking at these mounting locations, there should be no direct contact with the OEM aluminum TRD (pro) skid plate.

EDIT: NVM... I just went outside to take another look and it appears they share the rear mounting location.

“Thieves can not remove them” is the nuttiest thing I’ve read all week. A thief could just unbolt it as quickly as it takes to install it with the same exact tools.

So far with our skid plates and along with many other on the market we have confirmed that the skid plates do not touch each other, so there should be no issues with contact.

We do provide a security key/nuts that does not allow the thief to easily remove them. At the end of the day if the thief has the exact tools he can take them off, but what are the odds of him having the exact security tool is little to none. If people do not feel that this helps they do not have to buy it, but we are very fortunate to hear that our shields have helped thousands of people already.

Especially considering they are 4 weeks out to ship them. The math definitely checks out there!! I'm assuming they are referring to the Tacoma and 4runner shields and not specifically the Tundra.

The ultimate universal socket.... a Sawzall with a metal blade to take out the two mounting tabs and then bend the 12ga sheet metal out of the way leaving the single mounting point as the pivot point to bend. The thief already had the Sawzall in their hand when they slid under the truck, so might as well use it.

Folks, somebody can flat bed the whole truck too, so why bother locking your doors? Its a mitigation tool, not a complete failsafe.

At the end of the day this is a deterrent, we are just saying how we have had great success from our costumers and they have not got their cats stolen with our protectors

If these were made with aluminum I might be more inclined to buy a set to put under my current aluminum skid/cat plate to act as a double deterrent if a thief got past the skid. When you have multiple products on the market some are more effective than others. Your cover is $269.00 (stainless is pricey as you know) and when you compare that to spending $265.00 at Talons Garage for a 10 gauge powder coated steel skid plate that accomplishes a slightly higher level of deterrence IMO with the added bonus of some protection for the transmission.... I know where I'm spending my money (would be $359 for aluminum). Thanks the reply and engaging with current and potential customers. One of these days you'll get some of my money when I buy a couple of the the other cool products you sell.

According to @abc13houston a catalytic converter can be stolen in a matter of seconds. How crazy is that?!
