Carven muffler replacement

Has anyone just replaced their muffler with a carven r muffler? I am not looking to get a full cat back system, just replace the muffler. Thanks

that’s my fear, I put a super 44 on my old tundra and it sounded great and barely any drone. Just trying to add a little sound with little drone.

open mufflers like magnaflow, carven etc drone pretty bad. Chambered muffler like flowmaster fare a bit better but even the stock muffler has some drone.

Look up @dirtydeeds offerings. His resonator which attached to exhaust tailpipe does pretty much stop droning on his systems and folks have used them on the stock toyota exhaust for even more quiet. That might be an option for you with just a muffler swap....add the resonator, which should not cost that much. Heck, might be some unused ones that you could buy for less....ask in the marketplace.

I have the 10 inch DD system....tried it without the resonator first and had more drone than I wanted around 1700-2200 rpm. His tailpipe resonator removed all drone and it is still how I am running the truck.

Have you considered the TRD exhaust? Sounds like that is what you're looking for.

 

The least amount of drone out there is incorrect. His attempt to copy my product is a copy of one which I abandoned since I’ve found a way to make it better. LOL

 

If looking for just a muffler, I can not only help with that, but more importantly I can help with how to install it.

obviously installing a muffler is pretty straight forward. But there’s a hundred ways to do it. If you choose the correct way you’re building a foundation to create something which doesn’t drone. Doesn’t lose low end torque. And gains horsepower.

The price for my ‘just a muffler’ is competitive with most mainstream mufflers, or at least close enough it still makes sense to buy ours. Especially since my engineering advice is free. No other manufacturer allows you to not only configure your own exhaust, but we also offer engineering help for free.

Casey I’ve told you in the past. Haters are gonna hate. Even on video yours sounds better. I’ve listened to his as well and it’s ok. That’s my opinion.

 

The post I was quoting said ‘least drone out there’ which is misleading and incorrect. It is not the least drone out there. The design being referred to was abandoned by me; I tried your design; before you released your product and before I even knew your company existed. It didn’t work at getting rid of the drone so I kept prototyping and found a better way.

you’re right. I did assume you copied my Helmholtz resonator. It’s hard to believe anybody would release a product with that much drone using that design and say it doesn’t drone.

My testing of ‘your’ design indicated there was more drone than a tundra owner would be willing to have in a daily driver using that design so I just assumed you didn’t test anything and that you just copied the Helmholtz resonator I’ve been using on tundras for almost 20 years. My bad.

 

i have 3" pipe and had the Rs on. it wasnt bad at all but wasnt what i wanted so i put on TRs

btw i still have the pair of 3" carven Rs im wanting to sell $200 shipped
