I just noticed a new problem when using voice search in Google Maps with CarPlay. After the search I get the microphone symbol on my DIC screen, and it doesn't go away. The screen shows that I need to hit the back arrow button on the steering wheel to clear it to get back to the normal info displays, but it doesn't work. Bottom line is that the microphone symbol stays there and renders the DIC useless until the truck is shut down and restarted. What a PITA. It didn't use to do this, so perhaps the last software update created this problem. IDK.

Hold the volume button down until the screen turns off it’s a hard reset for your infotainment system and that clears it or at least it did for me

The thing that bothers me most in life is when my DIC is useless.

I’ve experienced the same thing multiple times. Apple maps works fine I wonder if switching to wired connection would improve the experience.

It may be a Google Maps problem and not a Toyota issue. I’ll try it out on my wife’s ride to see if I get the same behavior. I’ve had crap like this happen in the past with Waze and Google Maps acting fucky with microphone usage, which ultimately drove me to giving Apple Maps a try and liking that a little better.
