I know this subject has a few threads in the Audio & Video Forum, but I figure we'll never get a resolve unless we keep hammering Toyota to fix it.

The problem is, when using Siri voice assistant via CarPlay, for making calls, composing text messages, or listening to incoming text messages, the system doesn't automatically mute any music sources. You have manually turn the music volume down, or off, before interacting with the voice assistant in order to hear it.

Every other CarPlay compatible vehicle automatically mutes the music when interacting with Siri.

TOYOTA, PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ANNOYING PROBLEM IN YOUR NEXT HEAD UNIT SOFTWARE UPDATE.

    Thank you.

I’m not sure Toyota even thinks that it’s their responsibility. It’s a problem with the Head unit. The easiest solution is to get a replacement. The OEM unit is crappy anyway.
