So I’ve had my 2018 tundra for about 6 months now since purchasing it from the Toyota dealership. Up until about a month ago my cargo/bed lights worked when I opened the door or if I turned the switch to ‘on’. Then one day I noticed the stopped working no matter what position the switch is in.

The lights were LED lights which I guessing weren’t the OEM lights because a friend of mine has the same model that is a 2019 version and he has the classic halogen bulbs in his.

So I checked the fuse and seen it was blown. I put in another fuse with the same amps (7.5) and it blew immediately. Then I put another fuse in again and it blew that one immediately. I like the LED lights personally but wondering if that’s what’s causing the fuse to blow. Any thoughts?

Does the fuse only blow when they lights are supposed to be on. As in if the switch is off, you put in a fuse, the fuse doesn't blow immediately, right? If this is the case, i'd start with the bulbs. You have a multimeter? check continuity to ground, pull the bulbs with the switch on and see if you lose continuity.

If the fuse blew immediately after replacing with a new one, you have a short somewhere. I would pull the light housing and inspect the wiring for pinch.

    Check the bulbs also.
