Carbon Fiber Hood

Was thinking about swapping hoods , anyone had any issues or problems with this one below ? I know you will need hood pins.

I'd take advantage of the low pressure area at the front of the hood above the radiator. Place a reverse scoop in the center or 2 on each side above washer tank and battery.

I plan on cutting out in between the framed areas above radiator area and installing aluminum mesh. Will pull air up and out and reduce lift. Easy to cover in the rainy season.

can you take a picture of the front ? Yeah so I was honestly more worried about water or rain getting inside.

 

I'm not sure if this is the 2021 hood that you have. It has a low pressure area that, to me, would be perfect for venting. I haven't seen too many with the forward vent louver design but whatever hood you like is what matters. I like trying to work with what I have.
These areas seem prime for adding, low, and flush, vents or louvers. I've seen people use blue painters or frog tape to block vents or devise a diversion for under the hood.

Those louvers seem like a good fit for the newer style hoods. Most water drainoff would be at the fan shroud, pulleys and front section of the SC, at least on the 2007 hood.

Yea seems like it. I’d have that seibon hood already on my truck that we run on the old mans just need to figure out a blocker or something for the winter here

 

Is there room on the frame sections to tack on studs to secure a piece of aluminum or plastic sheet? At least water would seep down by shroud area. That's what I'm thinking as I have the e-fan and water would be in that area during our rainy winters.

 

Not on the carbon hood since the bottom layer is fiber glass then top is carbon. I'm sure something could be figured out just need to have it to see. Maybe nutserts then abs plastic deflector making it easy on and off.

 

yeah I have that hood, I wanted to remove that and save it. Buy a light weight carbon fiber hood with pins and vents in the top.
