So, now that I have leveled my truck I need bigger tires.

I did not realize how tiny the 20" OEM wheels (275/55/R20) look. Need some big ol wheely bobs now, is how my son put it!

I was initially thinking of 285/60/R20 and keep the OEM rims, but found a set of TRD pro rims with 275/70/R18. Now I can't decide.

"Technical Analysis" of all the data and forum posts has me leaning toward the 18".

Yeah. So, don't really have a question.

Love the new 6112/5160 suspension BTW.

If they are true Pro wheels, and not the knockoff lookalikes, then I'd go for those. They will be lighter.

So, I snoozed and I losed. The 18" TRD pro wheels sold. Found a set of these, with TPMS, but am wondering how much they weigh? What model did Toyota include these with? Would like to see how these would look on a silver crewmax.toy18.jpg

The idea of putting 285/60/20's on my OEM wheels is lingering, but that is like 12lbs heavier per corner compared to 275/70/18's on the TRD pro wheels.

Can't help you with the bigger tire part yet (Not till these damn brand new Michelin's that came on mine wear out!) but here's those wheels on a silver CM. I personally like the look of the TRD wheels. There's some Fuel or Method offerings I like better, but not enough better that I'm gonna' spend the money. I'd rather put it towards some 6112's

Thanks for sharing a pic, great looking truck! I think removing the step bars and replacing with sliders is next for me, so now I know what that looks like as well!

I had my 6112's set at 1.9" and will be joining the 275/70/18 gang soon!

Sadly, I won't be joining the 275/70/18 club. However, just put in an order for 285/60/20. I'll post pics once the new tires have been installed.

Availability of 18" wheels, having a second set of wheels in the garage, and spare tire all contributed to this decision.

the 285/60/20 have more sidewall than I am currently running, so this will only be a benefit to the time on pavement, and, honestly, the ride is noticeably better than stock with the 6112/5160 upgrade, so this will be another subjective 'improvement' to OEM!

New tire day! I'll take some better pics and share. I am happy with this choice. Hopefully removing the front mud flap solves the minor rub. I thought these would fit without any mods. Has me thinking, maybe the installer set the 6112's on the second clip instead of the third. I have to get back there for a better look.

Yup, confirmed. Front's were set up on 2nd clip. Front driver measures 23" from centre of axel to fender, rear on driver side measures 23.5", so it is definitely not level. passenger side measures 23.5" front and 24" rear, so looks like a full 0.5" "Bro Lean"! Funny, I never noticed it before, but now that I have measured, that is all I can see when I look at the front of my truck!.

Oh, how simple, what a good idea. I was thinking I would have to trim, but new flaps is a great option. Waiting to hear what the shop comes back with. They're good guys that do good work.
