Cannot get into programming mode to add new key fobs

2006 SR5 Double cab

i have tried to open the programming mode to add new key fobs. I have tried two different sets of instructions I found on line. The one most suggest has me cycling the door lock 5x in 5 sec twice. Following the instructions I never get to the point where the lock cycles telling you you are in the programming mode. Can anyone suggest where I can find the correct instructions. My fob has a lock and unlock button along Witt a small green light that lights up when you press the bottoms.
