2009 Tundra DLX

I am replacing, in my 09 Tundra, my android head unit with an Atoto A6. The old unit has a canbus controller and I have in the past installed Atoto units in two different Fords. Always just straightforward install with no canbus attachment. Not sure what it is for and do I need to worry about replacing it?
