    Hi,
So, had some work done that also meant replacing my windshield and now I have a really annoying wind whistle. I’m trying to figure out if it’s the trim, before I take it back to the shop.

Can someone check their truck (mine’s a 2016) and see if the edge trim goes to the top of the windshield? See the attached pic.

    thanks!

There are multiple cracks…I’ve had bad luck with replacements in the past (wind noise, paint damage, etc) so I’m not getting it replaced unless I get a large crack that continues to grow. I probably have around ten chips/small cracks from the freeways at this point.

Try putting a piece of tape over that section and see if the whistle goes away.

So, after poking around, I found out two things:
    1) the trim was like that before, and I never noticed (shop does extensive before/after pics). Still weird.
    2) wind noise was coming from the drivers side mirror. Seems the seal decided to pick that time to finally die. (Guessing maybe it got jostled during the work? Who knows)

The happy end result - shop took the truck while I was there, figured out where the noise was coming from, disassembled mirror and resealed it, and reinstalled it - all for no charge.

Thanks for everyone’s help! Now I’ll just have to figure out the trim issue because now that I know it’s there, it bugs me. :(
