Hi all, I misjudged pulling in a narrow pathway at speedway . Thumped rear tire against curb at 5 mph. Hit it hard enough to swing rear out away from curb. I think it’s ok. Tundra doesn’t pull and steering wheel is 11-12 o’clock when going straight. Steering wheel is just slightly off center but could of been like that from factory . Only 1900 miles on it. Bought Black Friday.

Something I learned researching how rear is attached . Apparently tundra leaf springs aren’t straight .

    No sh!t..
I'd be more pissed about $2.69 gas than rubbing a curb...:eek2:
I was concerned when ours when from $1.79 to $2.19 this week.

It's a truck, it can take a little abuse.
It the steering feels off, or the steering wheel doesn't seem straight, it is under warranty.
No reason to tell them about the curb, just tell them what the issue is on your first oil change.

Be happy, at least you didn't rub the wheel.
My wife's SRX has wheel rub on every wheel, although she says she has no idea how it got there.
But it's her car, so all is well..

Agree with the above statements.... you didn't hit the rim, only the tire so I wouldn't be concerned about it. Rubber flexes!

    In progress…
The steering wheel in my truck was at about 10 or 11 o’clock when I bought it and it pulled to the right. Drove me crazy. Took it back to the dealership. After they aligned it 3 times there was no change. I ended up taking it to a Goodyear service center and they nailed it. Steering wheel is straight now and the truck tracks true. You’re probably ok but it wouldn’t hurt to have it checked. If I were you I’d be more worried about the way the bed of your truck sits. It looks like the rear passenger side is a couple of inches lower.

Gasoline market is already anticipating fracking foremen saying, "Sorry boys, these jobs are going and they ain't coming back".

Get the truck aligned if the steering wheel is off center. An off center steering wheel is an indication that the alignment is off.

    My dealership has these installed.
You drive thru them upon entering the service dept and it checks your alignment and tire tread depth..

If rubbing a curb was going to knock it out, my wife's Durango should be crab-walking down the road at this point.

Pretty sophisticated technology. Keep in mind, its just an automated audit with the primary purpose of selling alignments and tires. If the need for alignment is marginal, they still sell an alignment. Hunter estimates three months ROI , but that would depend on the traffic through the shop.

Yeah, that clever rear wheel bump was the only way you could have completed that maneuver. You'll soon learn your Tundra has the turning radius of...well, a very big truck. :D

Just a pre alignment inspection. I watched the video on it and its pretty cool technology. It even scans the vehicle for damage so that the dealership can't be blamed for previous damage.

Tundras have solid rear axle, nothing to align in rear, and nothing to bump out of alignment...except the entire axle. If that happened, I'm sure you'd know. Steering wheel being off center, as others have said, is a front alignment fix...one tie rod end needs to be screwed in a tad, the other side unscrewed a tad.

On light duty vehicle (think Chevy Sonic) you might have to worry about a bent hub if you hit the curb hard. No issue for you.
