Ok, so I want to replace my rear bumper due to it being out of alignment on the left side (I backed into a bush the other day). The right side is still good. I was wondering can I leave my trailer hitch in place and just replace the chrome part and the step bar and brackets?

I’m also trying to decide if I should order the OEM parts for it or get aftermarket. Either way I need one that’ll fit for one that has tow package.

I replaced my rear bumper and step pads with aftermarket on my 2010 DC. I have tow package and tow equipment is not in the way of changing out bumper. Not a difficult job if you don't mind working on your back. No need to jack up truck.....plenty of clearance. It looks great with the new bumper. Purchased on ebay.

I just ordered one on eBay that includes all the hardware. I’m pretty handy with fixing things. How long did it take for you to replace yours?

Less than an hour. I watched a youtube video first and its pretty simple. I did screw up one of the mounting bolts and had to run over to the Toyota dealership to replace it. Fortunately the dealership is just a few minutes from my home. I recommend getting new pads also. Mine looked like crap next to the new bright chrome bumper.

One more thing......have some black spray paint available....Good time to repaint the trailer hitch assembly when the bumper is off.

I live in Southern CA and rust is not an issue on our trucks. That sia, it made my install very easy. The penetrating oil is a good tip if you're in a wet place. Rust is a bi**ch.
