I don't live in a state that does inspections. Can I just ignore it? It did go into limp mode like a year ago, but now it's just the engine light and it runs fine. I was going to do a bypass, but is there really any harm in just leaving it?

    Only code is P2443
    2008 Tundra 5.7 115,000 miles

I know there is a bypass. I was going to get the hewitt. However there are two options. One is $400 the other $200. The $200 one works with the code I have and the year. But it says not if the ECM has been updated with a calibration file from tundra. How do I know if it has or not? I did buy it from a tundra dealership in 2019. I'm the second owner.

If you got a service agreement when you bought it, and it's still active, I'd use that card. If it's fine, there is nothing wrong with continuing to drive it, up until the moment it drops you back into limp mode in the best possible place.
