If you have never programmed any buttons yet, you first reset/initialize it by pressing and holding the two outside buttons on the truck mirror until the light starts to blink. Only do this the first time as this erases everything and gets it ready.

To program for a an opener:
    - Have your own garage door opener nearby
    - Press and hold whichever button on the truck mirror you want to setup and at the same time, press and hold the button on your handheld garage opener, until it changes from a slow blink to a fast blink.
    - Your truck mirror button has now 'learned' that remote's frequency and configuration
    - Now you go press the learn button on your opener in your garage and this will listen for a new remote
    - Press the button on your truck mirror that you just programmed. This will send the signal out for your opener to learn and accept. (You may have to press the button a few times, if the garage starts to open/close it's done and has learned your truck's button)

If you have further problems just google 'Homelink setup' and there are tons of videos on youtube.

When I first got my 2012 it wouldn't learn my garage door with rolling code.
After I few tires I completed the process by erasing the memory of the mirror and then doing the learning process as read in the manual.
I see you got yours done, but I wanted to throw in my 2 cents for anyone who may have an issue with a pre-owned truck in the future.

When I recently bought my 2019 Tundra I went through the same thing. It took me several tries, but I eventually got it programmed and I love being able to open that 12' door by pressing the button on my mirror as I drive up the road to my house. It's the little things in life.

I went through the same process with my 2018 and had to replace my garage door opener. My fifteen year old opener (even though it was HomeLink friendly) would not recognize new vehicles. It had exceeded it's useful life anyway so it ended up being a win/win for me.
