Can’t decide which lift!!!

    Analysis paralysis going on here. Not sure which route to go. I either want to;

    Toytec aluma boss kit with spc uca’s

    Or

    3 inch spacer kit (bds or rc.... Is there a difference??). And get the spc uca’s

    Going the latter is significantly less money. I’d also like to add rci skid plate, and some lighting. I could do the spacer lift, plus this, and still be less money. If I don’t like the spacer lift, I feel like I could always just get the Toytec coils later.

    I’m set on wheels... sort of. Either fuel vector or method 305s bronze, 295/70 18. All my reading shows this combo Needs minimal trimming.

    Truck is 99% daily driver. I just don’t know if I “need” the aluma boss full kit. But the times I do go off road, I don’t want to be disappointed and/or have failure of a spacer kit. I travel (drive the truck) long distances to hunt western states. I want good road driving, but be able to handle the 2 tracks out there on forest roads. Last year my factory skid plate took a big rock hit and somehow did it’s purpose, but has a giant dent now - so I do want some improvements for off road capabilities.

    Many will tell you to buy once, cry once.

    I am not an expert on lifts, but I think the consensus on this forum is that spacer lifts are not the way to go.

    I did a spacer level back in the day... I always felt like I cheaped out even though it performed alright. My ball joints got worked over pretty good though.

    Why not go for Bilstein 5100's or better yet a 6112/5160 setup? Its cheaper than the SPC/Toytec kit while still a great balance of nice onroad ride and solid off road performance. Based on your use it doesn't sound like you do a bunch of offroading so your money could be better spent on skids etc. like you said. Just say no to spacer lifts! I have similar use with my truck as its my daily but also my weekend hunting/camping/wheeling rig and just run an OME 612 kit with 295's and its been great.

    Here, I fixed it for you: The consensus on all forums is that spacer lifts are not the way to go, especially ones at 3".

    If your not gonna be a mall crawler, don’t go with spacers. Get some coilovers. Your two options above are considerably different in performance and price. What’s your price range, we can probably help you out better knowing that. But agreed, buy once cry once.

    I just kinda had in my head to go toytec. I’m definitely open to other similarly performing options. I’ve read all positives in that aluma boss kit. I was also looking at the ome stuff and looked like there was mixed reviews on that. Like to be in the ballpark of $1500 for everything lift related. Wheels/tires looking right around $2400. Skid plate $400. Lighting $300. Don’t want to be over $5k when all said and “done”.

    side question about wheels - and I’m sure if I looked on this forum it’s here somewhere.

    ordering from custom offsets, are y’all choosing for them to put the tpms sensors in? What other extras ? Bead weights? Are the wheels plug and play when they get delivered?

    appreciate all the info!!!

    You can also look at Elka’s.
    I think I read the Toytec is a rebranded version on certain models. Depending on which has a current deal, shipping, etc. it may be another option.

    Definitely go with the Toytec, I think for that price point you will be extremely pleased. What are your plans for the back, shackles or add a leaf? UCAs..?

    I just went with Fox and SPC uca’s. I spent a little more than I initially wanted to but I decided to do it right the first time.

    Ironman suspension has a full lift kit for tundra. Comes with adjustable coilovers, rear leaf springs, shocks and shackles. As well as ucas if you get the stage 2 kit. 2699 now but I just got mine for 2024 with a 25% flash sale

    Going to play devil's advocate here...

    It sounds like you don't NEED a full on adjustable coilover set up. Based on what you said a 3/1 spacer lift should suite your needs fine (check out ReadyLift's offerings).

    Of course everyone who spent $2k on their set up are going to tell you spacers suck; they wanna feel good about all that money they spent :)

    You can pick up the ReadyLift 3/1 kit for a couple hundred bucks on Amazon. Give it a try and see what you think. If you decide you don't like it, you're only out a couple hundred bucks (which you could likely re coupe most of by reselling the kit) and the cost of an alignment. And of course a couple hours on a Saturday. You can always upgrade down the road.

    Downsides of course are maybe a slightly harsher ride, and less travel. As long as you're not giving your truck hell offroad and extend your bump stops (check Coachbuilder for these) you should be fine. In my experience there really isn't much of a difference in ride quality with spacers.

    The majority of people who invest in a quality suspension setup don't regret it at all. Spacers do not perform well offroad. The reason we advise doing it right the first time is because a lot of us wish we did.

    Hmm, you're the first I've heard say that.

    A spacer ain't that bad. Just depends how much and how it's used.. I currently have a 1 inch spacer stacked with another lift and my ride is butter smooth..

    Eibach Pro Kit. Camburg UCA's. Coachbuilder bumper shims. Cab mount chop. N-Fab side steps. 18 inch Method 308 Roost wheels. Falken Wildpeak AT/3 tires (295-70-18). Gator EFX bed cover.
    I went with the Eibach Pro Kit and have been happy with it. I bought the kit for just under $600. Didn't want to just do spacers, but my offroad needs didn't necessitate spending a bunch more for a more serious setup. Considered the options from Bilstein, especially since there was more feedback and info out there on the Tundra specific applications, but I was able to find the Eibach kit when everything else seemed to be back ordered for a few months. No complaints so far.

    Are the 2.5 aluma worth the extra money over the 2.0? Is the only difference 3mm in piston shaft? (19mm vs 16mm).

    rear I was just going to use the rear shocks that come with the kit, and a 1 inch block.

    Sounds like I won’t be going with spacers

    I just put 2” spacers on mine. No change in ride and the alignment came in fine. The spacer fear on this forum is strong.
