    Some stuff
i'm about to drill more holes in the roof and looking for some recommendations. way back when, @KevinK recommended i look at some of the stuff from scanstrut. i like the idea of their cable clams. blue sea has something similar but the scanstrut one is a little lower profile and not bright white.

i've also been looking at basic nylon cable glands but i'm not sure of thickness of the roof for the thread length.

since the scanstrut is made for marine environments, i know it's going to stand up to the elements. not sure about the cable gland.

what i would really like is something with a disconnect so that i can unplug the item on the roof if need be. does something like that exist?

We were just having similar conversation over here @smslavin

doesn’t seem to be much more info other than routing out the floor grommet and then all the way up to the roof via windshield gap.

I grabbed a handful of glands back in the day also and didn’t like how far they stood up with relatively little base flange to keep solid.
Peep this scanstrut multi for a really nice pass for multiple cables.

and no quick disconnects that I’ve found other than you could cut your cables and install Deutsch connectors on them wherever you need.

    Yeah, you don't want that.

yep, that's the one you recommended. for the location i need a hole, i only have one wire so i went with the smaller scanstrut instead. also picked up a couple of glands from jegs. for $2.50 a piece, i figure they were worth checking out.

deutsch connector. yes. i'll have to look into that a bit more. i was hoping for something more integrated with an IP68 rating. i'm thinking about maintenance issues whenever i may have to remove solar panels and/or lights from the roof.

I like the multi version just because it’s sexier than the plastic white thing, and also if you decide you want to add more wires later, you have room to grow.

Do a Google search for solar panels on the roof. Not tundra specific but might give you more ideas. Lots of clever installs out there on other vehicles
