First time poster, long term lurker.

Looking at buying a used late model Tundra Limited TRD Double Cab. Found a 2017 CPO in the mid Atlantic at a reasonable price...but received the pics from the dealer.

There is a bit of rust on the underside, particularly on the front suspension. Not a ton, but enough to make me wonder. Or, is this just surface rust and not a biggie?

    TIA

That does not look bad to me for a 4-5 year old truck.

That's no biggie at all. Very good looking under-body.

Looks pretty good. Last year I bought a tundra off carvana and this is what it looked like. :frusty:

I see nothing concerning about that. Now I'm curious where the Mid Atlantic part of the country is.

Cool. That's what I thought, too. I'm normally a BMW gal, but given the history of Tundra rust problems, I thought I would check.

    Thanks!

Yup. No issues. They just came and picked it up. Left my sunglasses in the overhead console and those were tricky to get back but I got them.

No worries. Kind of happy it happened. Ended up getting a couple years newer, California vehicle with better maintenance history.

My last 3 Toyota’s have been new but I was frustrated with the Toyota Safety Sense and lack of a transmission cooler on my 2019 4.6L. I traded it for a 2017 5.7L. I usually would only buy used if it was oil sprayed, but this one wasn’t. It had only 26,000 km so I bought it. I’ll get it oil sprayed in July some time, let the summer heat melt the oil into all the cracks.
I live near Toronto and they use lots of salt, I have a little rust, but oil spray will dismiss my concerns.

That doesn t look bad at all. My 07 has about as much, although I don t understand how, cause it rains bucket loads in porland.

I’ve got a 2017, and there’s no rust of any kind on mine.

Thanks. I do want to have the tiiiiiiiny little bit of rust taken off the underbelly....then soak her in fluid film every winter. Hopefully extend her useful life a bit.
