    Hi just joined the tundra forum, I am looking to buy my first truck and out of all of them I like the tundra the most, my price range is within a 2007 or a 2008 tundra, but I have been reading about some problems that the 07,08 tundras can have, are these problems really common or not so much, and for those that have owned or own the 07 08 tundra, how do you like them? Thanks for the reply’s

    Welcome from CO. My 07 turned 95,006 miles today. No major issues yet. Whatever year you get...when you find one...check Carfax, take VIN to nearest Toyota dealer to get factory build out info and verify it and what recalls were recorded...

    I bought my 07 with 163k miles, only thing I did was replace a bad belt tensioner and put new rear brakes on.

    Welcome Todd. I loved my '07. The serpentine belt and water pump went a little early (30k) but the pump was under warranty so no labor for the belt just the cost of the belt. Never had another issue and I sold it with close to 80k.

    3rd owner of 2007 with 5.7, bought with 130k miles. Had for 1 year now, no known issues. Normal maintenance.

    the 4.6 has a timing belt to change.

    The 4.7 had a timing belt. 4.6 has a timing chain.
