    HI All!

I just put down a deposit on a 1947 without TRD package and no air suspension...

I do not off-road. I may go to snow/mountains on weekends, but generally it's paved roads, and not deep snow at all.

All YouTube reviews i see say - get TRD package, etc etc, Bilstein shocks, rear lockers, etc...

Am i really missing out on having only the "stock" shocks on 1947??
Is the ride and handling on paved roads much better with the TRD package/Bilstein shocks??

    Thx all!

1947, 1974, 1497, 1794 - none of it matters. Your suspension will be just fine on pavement. TRD off-road suspension will be harsher on road.

You don’t need TRD, standard FWD will be fine. The most important thing in your case is good tires and common sense.

As much as I love all things off-road, I specifically did NOT want the TRD package. It just wasn’t worth the $$ for some shocks (cheap and easy to upgrade if needed) and an electronic locker that I would never use (along with 99% of Tundra owners). I’m glad my allocation didn’t have it!

Thank you all for your replies.

I was very bummed that my 1794 didn't have Trd or air suspension, but I feel much better now...

I do want better handling on the freeway and also want it to be higher, a lift.

Today I learned about a TRD lift kit :ohsnap:

So I may get that in a year or so...

One more question... I do load up truck heavy from time to time... What can I do to improve rear load capacity? Heavy duty rear coils?

I don't want to void the warranty...

    Thx!
