More than likely that is fallout, things like brake dust and other metal particles get stuck in the paint. You can get rid of them with a decon spray and/or clay bar. But you'll want to wax or seal the paint after as both of those will also strip the wax.

Rail dust from transport first I've heard on a third gen but there are quite a few second geners that have reported it
I would definitely take it to the dealer before messing with the lovely Toyota paint

That dust from train brakes is hot and gets into the paint.

Im pretty sure its not rail dust. From what I’m seeing on a lot of the forums that it is some
anti mold agent in the tires mixing with the tire shine seems to be what I’m seeing the most from people who have experienced the same problem

New update.. brought the truck back to the Toyota dealership they were unsuccessful on getting out the stains themselves. They had to order a new rear driver side panel. Somebody please help me and tell me a product that they used to get this out with ??? How does the dealership not know of this problem!?!?

Just like everyone said above. It’s brake dust(rust). My white 18’ was covered in it. Had a detailer take it all out.
