I took the Tundra on a 50 mile forest road drive this morning and started hearing a rattle and squeak which turned out to be a broken driver's side rear shock mount. My search turned up one thread where he solved it by welding. That seems less feasible given how the mount is broken on my truck.
    • Is the shock mount something that can be purchased new?
    • Any suggestions on how to repair this?

This is the cracked tab that mounts to the frame, looking at it from the rear:

Same break, looking at it from the front:

That's the spec of the Tundra this morning from North Baldy in NE Washington, just across the border from Idaho.

Thanks for any tips to solve this.

Bam! That seems to be a pretty good outfit. Custom made parts shipped with hardware needed to complete the job along with helpful instructions all at a reasonable price.

    Thank you.

p.s. Nice build thread, nice truck.

Thanks. It doesn't look terribly rusted so I'm wondering if the shock is too long/bump stop missing or if it's just old age. I'll find out more when I'm not lying on grass under the truck being eaten by mosquitos.

Will do! My project list is two lifetimes long so it may take awhile but I try to close the loop for learning purposes.
