So my rear drive shaft flange yoke broke while driving on the highway. I coasted to the shoulder and turned off the truck to hop out and check out the damage. Saw my drive shaft hanging and my muffler all beat up. I started up the truck and turned on the AC to cool off and wait for the tow. I noticed the 4lo light was flashing. I’ve since repaired the yoke flange and the truck drives fine in 2 wheel but the 4lo light is still flashing and the truck will not go into 4hi or lo no matter what I try. I never had any issue getting into 4hi then 4lo before the drive shaft broke. I’m gonna take a look at the actuator tomorrow. Anybody here ever heard of this or had it happen to them. I’ve been searching Google and YouTube but nobody has listed the issue after a drive shaft breaking. Tia

I would remove the positive battery cable and let it sit off the battery for 20 minutes, then put it back. You may just need to reset things a bit for your truck to be happy again, otherwise someone will be along soon who will post the big image of what the various combinations of flashing/solid indicators mean on the truck.

Right on, thanks audiowize. I will give that a try. I took the battery cable off as soon as I saw the light flashing but I only had it off for about 1 min. I will post results of the 20 min off

Well I left the positive cable off the battery for 20 mins and no luck. Still got the flashing 4lo. I’m thinking Winning8 might be on to something. I did a quick inspection back when I replaced the yoke flange but nothing stood out. I guess I was posting this to see if this is a common issue when busting a drive shaft.
