Every morning my wife pulls out of the driveway her breaks squeal on the 2018 tundra only in rear passenger. I went to the dealership and they said it’s normal for the OEM brakes to do that when they are cold and that it was normal. When she gets going it goes anyways but they are annoyingly loud. Does anyone else have this problem. If the OEM brakes sucks does that mean I shouldn’t replace them with OEM parts? I’ve tried cleaning the rotors and pads. Being that it’s supposedly something normal resurfacing the rotors wouldn’t do anything either correct? The truck has 50k

I got a 2019 Tundra with 20k, now that it started getting colder it does this also. Horrible noise, i think it wakes up my neighbors, toyota told me the same thing, build up of moisture. Iys frustrating since my wife's minivan, which is a kia, has never had this noise. Anyhow, did you ever figure out how to solve this?

I've had 4 5th gen 4runners (yeah long story). They all did this to a certain degree. It was pretty consistent. Once brakes cooled off a bit, there was an initial chirp/squeal and then nothing for rest of drive...unless hours on freeway (cooling brakes).

I haven't heard this on my Tundra yet. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if it did.

If you have cleaned off glaze on the pads, and touched up the rotor, and it still does it then its just something to live with.

Edit. I had a 2010 mustang GT for 10 years. I put almost 98000 miles on it. Never ever heard a squeal or chirp. I drove through huge puddles, snow, and lots of dirt. Amazing...but oh boy did that brake configuration cause lots of pedal pulsation. It was material transfer from pads. I was changing rotors and pads often.

My take is there is a fine line between stopping distance required (heat transfer), quietness, and material transfer rate.

Kind of like good, fast, cheap...pick any two.

Mine would also squeal first thing in the morning when it was cold out but went away after driven for awhile. I have changed pads to aftermarket and it doesn’t do it. Try to take the pads out and put some brake caliper lube on them or spray them with it.

Update: the bolt that goes threw the caliper was not lubed and broken. Luckily it was covered under warranty ($480). I think how ever put the bolt in from factory did not add grease and cause premature wear and broke. After that the truck never squeaked.
