We added a 2018 Toyota Tundra to the family this week. We like to keep our vehicles a long time. Since it is brand new, should I consider doing a ceramic coating myself now? I am going to do the 3M Pro clear coating on the hood and fenders soon. I am also adding the color matching door edge guards. Anything else I should do now to protect it? Thanks for your suggestions.

What is the benefits of ceramic coating, approximate cost and how often does it need to be done. I drive thru car wash weekly and had wax once a month...suggestions?

If I ceramic coat it, what do you recommend? I would like to do it myself.

First time or? I would have a pro do it. If not, @SouthBoundSteve can recommend a brand

Thanks Steve. I am still debating between a ceramic coat and doing a sealant instead. The car has less than 200 miles on it. I am having 3M Pro protection film installed on the hood and fenders this Tuesday.

Most higher end coatings can’t be bought and done yourself. If you truly want the best outcome I’d highly recommend seeking a professional. I had Modesta bc04 done on mine. Cost was $1500 plus $200 to coat the glass, Not one regret in the world. Paint has a whole new level of shine on it and washes are much easier, water literally falls off the truck. 79177AB9-23B5-4DF1-A52C-52B688013D4E.jpg
